Procura por testes de varíola dos macacos triplica em um mês, diz fabricante

São Paulo corresponde a quase 30% da demanda total do país

A demanda por testes PCR para varíola dos macacos em julho deste ano foi três vezes maior do que no mês anterior no Brasil, segundo levantamento da produtora Thermo Fisher Scientific.

A empresa, que fabrica o teste que detecta o patógeno, vende o produto para cerca de 20 laboratórios nacionais. Em São Paulo, que corresponde a quase 30% da demanda total do país, o crescimento foi expressivamente maior: a procura aumentou seis vezes no período analisado.

Tendência

A situação no Brasil segue o cenário mundial: o ritmo da demanda global, ainda de acordo com a produtora, cresceu mais de dez vezes entre junho e julho deste ano.
