A Secretaria de Saúde do Distrito Federal (SES-DF) confirmou, nesta segunda-feira (15/8), 16 novos casos de monkeypox, a conhecida varíola dos macacos,

Ao todo, o DF tem 118 pessoas infectadas. Destes, 5 são mulheres. A Pasta ainda descartou 154 casos investigados. Outros 127 continuam sob suspeição.

Vale ressaltar, os sintomas mais comuns da varíola dos macacos ou monkeypox são febre, dores de cabeça e musculares, cansaço e calafrios.

A doença é transmitida por meio do contato direto com pessoas contaminadas; ou por objetos contaminados; através da mãe para o feto ou para o bebê, durante o parto; por relações sexuais; por lesões e feridas na boca ou na pele.
