Justin Bieber e Demi Lovato vão se apresentar no primeiro domingo do Festival Rock in Rio 2022, no dia 4 de setembro, no palco Mundo. O festival foi adiado por um ano devido à pandemia de Covid-19 e confirmado para ocorrer nos dias 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 e 11 de setembro do ano que vem.

Esta será a estreia de Biber no Rock in Rio, incluindo as diferentes edições em Lisboa, Madri e Las Vegas, depois de três shows solo em 2011, 2013 e 2017. É a primeira vez de Lovato no festival brasileiro, mas ela já se apresentou na capital portuguesa em 2018.

A informação foi divulgada primeiro pelo jornal O Globo e depois pelo Jornal Nacional, da TV Globo.

Outras atrações como o dia do metal, com a presença de Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Sepultura e Dream Theather, anunciadas originalmente para a edição de 2021 não foram confirmadas. Também não há informações sobre a realização do encontro entre Steve Vai e Living Colour no palco Sunset.
