O canadense Andre de Grasse conquistou, nesta quarta-feira (4/8), a medalha de ouro na final dos 200 m das Olimpíadas de Tóquio-2020. Ele marcou o tempo de 19s62, novo recorde canadense.

A prata ficou com o norte-americano Kenneth Bednarek (19s68) e o bronze foi para outro norte-americano, Noah Lyles (19s74).

O maior nome dos 200 m em Olimpíadas é Usain Bolt, tricampeão da prova em Pequim-2008, Londres-2012 e Rio-2016.

O jamaicano, que se aposentou das pistas, ainda é o detentor do recorde olímpico (19s30) e mundial (19s19) da distância.
