Sem os Estados Unidos na final, a Itália surpreendeu e venceu o revezamento 4 x 100 m masculino nas Olimpíadas de Tóquio. A equipe europeia cravou o tempo de 37s50 nesta sexta-feira (6/8).

O time italiano foi formado por Lorenzo Patta, Lamont Marcell Jacobs, que já havia ganhado os 100 m, Eseosa Fostine Desalu e Filippo Tortu.

A prata ficou com a Grã-Bretanha, que fez a marca de 37s51. A equipe correu com Chijindu Ujah, Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty e Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake

O bronze foi para o Canadá (37s70), que correu com Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney e Andre de Grasse.
