Jogador do City acusado de estupro continuará preso até julgamento em 2022

O jogador Benjamin Mendy, do Manchester City, permanecerá em prisão preventiva até que seu julgamento por estupro seja realizado no ano que vem. Ele foi acusado de ataques sexuais a três mulheres.

Mendy está sob custódia há cerca de sete semanas e teve sua fiança negada por um juiz em uma audiência no Tribunal Crown de Chester. Esse foi o terceiro pedido de fiança que o jogador fez. O julgamento foi marcado para 24 de janeiro de 2022.

Os supostos ataques, contra três mulheres, incluindo uma menor de 18 anos, teriam acontecido em seu endereço residencial em Prestbury, Cheshire.

Mendy foi acusado, no dia 26 de agosto, de cometer três estupros relacionados a um suposto incidente em outubro de 2020 e a uma agressão sexual do início de janeiro deste ano.

Manchester City suspendeu o lateral esquerdo em agosto, enquanto aguarda as investigações. No momento, ele está ausente da loja online oficial do clube, e os fãs não podem comprar camisetas com seu nome e número nas costas.
