Imagens captadas da aurora austral no céu da Tasmânia, na Austrália, impressionaram a internet. O fenômeno natural foi registrado na última terça-feira (27/9).

A #auroraaustralis bombou nas redes sociais porque nestas últimas noites moradores e turistas da região podem apreciar um show de luzes no céu.

A Tasmânia, uma ilha distante 200km da Austrália, tem uma população de aproximadamente 500 mil pessoas. O fenômeno natural de cobrir o céu de cores acontece ao norte e bem ao sul do planeta Terra.

No Alasca, por exemplo, o fenômeno é conhecido por aurora boreal porque a região fica no hemisfério norte. O mesmo fenômeno ocorre na Tasmânia, na Austrália, país do hemisfério sul, e, portanto, chamado por aurora austral ou polar.
