O ex-presidente Fernando Henrique Cardoso, 90, foi internado nesta sexta-feira (11/3) no hospital Albert Einstein, em São Paulo, após uma fratura no fêmur. A informação foi divulgada pelo PSDB no Twitter. O partido não informou como ocorreu a fratura.

“Receba o abraço dos tucanos de todo o Brasil”, disse o PSDB.

Segundo Ancelmo Gois, do jornal O Globo, Fernando Henrique sofreu um acidente e a internação o impossibilitou de comparecer à posse do jornalista e escritor Merval Pereira na presidência da Academia Brasileira de Letras. A posse, em sessão solene, ocorreu nesta sexta, no Rio de Janeiro.

A última declaração pública do ex-presidente foi no dia 25 de fevereiro, sobre a guerra na Ucrânia. “Condeno a invasão da Ucrânia por tropas russas a mando do presidente Putin. Litígios se resolvem por negociação nunca pela imposição da força”, disse.
